Dr. P.T.A. (Patrice) de Rijk studied archaeology at the University of Amsterdam in 1986 and worked as a PO in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. He is a specialist in the field of slag research, more specifically in the metallurgy of iron. In 2017 he started a freelance career in slag examinations from archaeological excavations.
