Avalon Archaeology hosts reconstruction buildings of the Iron Age, Roman and Saxon periods. The Iron Age roundhouse is based on evidence from Glastonbury Lake Village. The Roman building is a recreation of a typical winter dining room of a Roman villa from Somerset with working hypocaust, frescoes and mosaic floor. The Saxon longhall is based an a late 9th century AD example from King Alfred's estate at Cheddar. A waterline replica Viking trading vessel is a recreation of the Skuldelev 3 wreck from Roskilde (Denmark).
