EAC14 done and dusted!

From 12th-16th May we held the 14th edition of the Experimental Archaeology Conference in Curitiba, Brazil, in collaboration with the host institution of the Federal University of ParanĂ¡. Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and the enthusiasm of our speakers - in both cases online and in-person - the event went very smoothly and we have marked it off as a success!
The first three afternoons of the event were dedicated to a wide range of papers split into hybrid sessions focusing on lithics, bone, and ceramics, with speakers joining from all across the world. We also had two dedicated online sessions which looked at metalworking and public craft, and three fascinating keynote presentations looking at experimental archaeology in South America, digital archaeology, and the range of experimental materials.
In addition to these fascinating sessions we also had expert-led in-person workshops each morning looking at lithics, bone and antler, ceramics, and indigenous painting. For the final two days of the conference, we travelled out of Curitiba to learn all about Brazilian archaeology, from shell mounds in the east to rock shelters in the west.
There will be a full review coming soon to the EXARC Journal, so keep an eye out for that. But we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible, and are very much looking forward to the next edition of the EAC (announcement for the 2027 location coming soon...)
