Abraán is a historian and Archaeologist from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He works on archaeological excavations and other audiovisual outreach projects such as documentaries, television programs, YouTube videos, and video games. His main areas of interest and research have been metal reduction and smelting techniques in prehistory and other metallurgical techniques, combat in past eras, and the production, performance, and practical use of various military equipment throughout history. He is also a historical reenactor, which he uses to gain experience both reproducing artifacts and using them in complex group settings.
"I think what's interesting about experimental archaeology is that it shows you the entire life cycle of an artifact. From the collection of the necessary materials, the manufacturing process, use, transport, storage, and even the end of its useful life. Through all of this, one can definitively appreciate the complexity of production methods, the efficiency of objects in their intended tasks, and even the effort or implicit value derived from their production, possession, or use.”'
