Dr. Felix-Adrian Tencariu is a Romanian archaeologist and researcher affiliated with the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, where he has been actively engaged in prehistoric archaeology since 2009. His scholarly work focuses on the analysis and interpretation of material culture, with particular interest in Neolithic and Eneolithic communities of Southeastern Europe.

A key dimension of his research is experimental archaeology, which he approaches not as a standalone field but as an essential interdisciplinary tool. By testing prehistoric ceramic technologies, pyrotechnical installations, and domestic features, Dr. Tencariu aims to trial archaeological hypotheses and better understand technological choices, spatial behavior, and symbolic practices of ancient communities. His experiments are informed by archaeological evidence, ethnographic parallels, and ethnoarchaeological data, offering a dynamic methodology that bridges theory and practice.

Dr. Tencariu is the author and co-author of over 60 academic publications, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and monographs. His work integrates field archaeology, archaeometry, GIS-based spatial analysis, and experimental frameworks. His broader academic vision seeks to understand the intricate interplay between material forms and human behavior in prehistory — a vision rooted in careful excavation, contextual analysis, and the embodied knowledge derived from doing archaeology, not just writing about it.
