I am an archaeologist specializing in the study of past human behaviors through the analysis of material culture. My research focuses on the technologies of Paleolithic hunter-gatherer groups in Europe and the Near East, which I investigate by microscopically examining use-wear traces and residues on both organic and inorganic tools.
I am also deeply interested in exploring the cultural and symbolic dimensions of these societies through the study of art and ornamentation. Currently, I am a researcher at the University of Tübingen, where I coordinate the Material Culture Laboratory.
