I'm an ethno-musicologist and musician trained at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. At the University of Bonn, Germany, I studied old languages at the German and the English department and did extensive research on oral poetry and storytelling traditions in Europe and the Middle East. My programs are in Gothic, Old Norse, Old High German, Middle High German, Old Saxon, Old English, Middle English and Provençal.

Together with specialist instrument builders I work on the reconstruction of musical (string) instruments, the oldest from archeological finds from the 7th century and from sculptures up to the late 15th century.

I play concerts and run education events at museums, libraries, historical venues and lecture at universities. Main focus is the re-oralization of Medieval literature and finding sounds for the past. I call it music-archeology.
