Nibedita is a current doctoral researcher focused on human-animal relationships in early farming societies. They have worked with bone and antler tools at the Tamluk Archaeological Museum using typological studies, experimental replications, and use-wear analysis.

I am interested in becoming an EXARC member because my current doctoral research focuses on human-animal relationships in early farming societies, where experimental archaeology is essential for understanding past lifeways.

I recently conducted a study on bone tools from the Tamluk Archaeological Museum, which involved typological classification, experimental replication, and microscopic use-wear analysis. This experience deepened my interest in experimental methods. I am particularly interested in working on bone and antler tool replication and their microscopic analysis to reconstruct past technologies and tool-use patterns. However, in India, structured guidance, training, and institutional support in experimental archaeology remain limited. ù

By joining EXARC, I hope to connect with a global network of researchers, gain access to learning resources, and explore potential opportunities for short-term training, fellowships, and job openings in the field of experimental archaeology.Becoming an EXARC member would support both my academic growth and professional development, while also allowing me to contribute to ongoing international dialogues in experimental archaeology.
