Historian and strategic affairs scholar at the University of Delhi, with research and teaching spanning history, conflict and security studies, and a growing interdisciplinary focus on archaeological science, the history of mathematics, and the relationship between material culture, numerical knowledge and technological development.

Recent work explores India's mathematical traditions and their relevance to contemporary scientific and technological thought, including the historical foundations of number systems, computation and AI.

Previously worked with Hosei University (Tokyo) and Deakin University (Melbourne); visiting professor at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Monterrey.

Over a 23-year academic career, has supervised PhD scholars and authored the award-winning book "Fragile Frontiers: The Secret History of Mumbai Terror Attacks" (Routledge, 2014).
