Empowering Culture: Join the ENCATC Academy 2026 for Green, Social & Digital Change

EXARC is excited to invite its members to apply for a unique training opportunity by The Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO) in cooperation with ENCATC. The program will start in April 2026!

The 2026 edition of the ENCATC Academy on Sustainable Cultural Management and Policy will take place from 21–24 April in Bilbao, Spain. This initiative empowers cultural professionals, educators, researchers, and policymakers to integrate sustainability across the cultural and creative sectors through the triple transformation: green, social, and digital.

Over four days, participants will gain knowledge, skills, and competencies in sustainable cultural management and policy, while engaging in exchanges, mutual learning,and sharing of best practices.

Special opportunity for NEMO members: 10 NEMO members will be selected to receive a travel grant (up to 800 € according to NEMO‘s grant scheme) and free participation in the full four-day Academy. While sustainability is the overarching theme, NEMO’s 2026 focus on Digital Development, AI & Cyber Security - with its many facets - will be highlighted on the final day.

ENCATC and ENCATC Academy

ENCATC is the European network on cultural management and policy and represents, advocates, and promotes cultural management and cultural policy education, professionalizes the cultural sector to make it sustainable, and creates a platform for discussion and exchange at European and international level.

ENCATC has been creating and delivering academies for over 10 years, alongside local partners. The ENCATC Academy is the space for the cultural management and policy community come together for learning and adopting a new behavior as a professional and as a citizen.

The Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO) is an independent network of national museum organisations, museum networks, individual museums and museum-related businesses representing the museum community of the member states of the Council of Europe.
