The European Heritage Alliance is an informal platform of over 50 European and international networks that works to promote and safeguard Europe's cultural and natural heritage. Coordinated by the heritage organization Europa Nostra, the alliance was launched in 2011 to encourage cooperation among Europe's heritage networks.
The "3.0" designation references Article 3.3 of the European Union's Lisbon Treaty, which mandates that the EU "shall respect its rich cultural and linguistic diversity, and shall ensure that Europe's cultural heritage is safeguarded and enhanced".
Aims and activities
Encourage collaboration: The alliance holds regular meetings to facilitate a structured dialogue between member organizations and European Union (EU) institutions.

Mobilize civil society: The alliance brings together civil society organizations, historic cities, educators, and heritage professionals to represent a large constituency of European citizens.
Respond to crises: In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the alliance published a manifesto highlighting the power of cultural heritage to act as a catalyst for recovery and positive change in Europe.
