CELTS is designed to be an event that helps us learn from heritage crafts and skills to build a more sustainable future, so we welcome a range of experience and talent!
In terms of time period, we stick to the times we know Crannogs are being used - the Neolithic, Iron Age and Medieval through to Early Modern (which does, admittedly, cover quite a lot of human history!).
When it comes to disciplines, on site we cover almost all aspects of Iron Age life- textiles, metalworking, woodworking, food and agriculture, clay, building techniques, and the oral culture. Over the event, we'll be focussing our conversations with visitors on animals in Iron Age life and how they're depicted in the art and stories we have about them, but that doesn't confine our guest contributors to the same topic.
We'd welcome anyone who wanted to run a conversation or lecture on their favourite subject, but we also very much welcome demonstrations, hands on activities, or people having a go at experimental archaeology!
