Live interpretation is a broad and inspiring field, bringing together museums, and Open-Air Museums, heritage institutions, re-enactors, educators, storytellers and experimental archaeologists. Together we explore how history and archaeology can be communicated to modern audiences in engaging and meaningful ways.

The event will bring together a series of guests from across the living history, museum, and experimental archaeology communities.

Björn Jakobsen (Sweden)

Founder of Föteviken Viking Museum and one of the pioneers of international living history. For decades, he has helped shape living history, experimental archaeology, and museum interpretation across Europe and beyond.

Eva IJsveld (The Netherlands)

Textile historian, artist, and historical craft specialist who combines academic research with hands-on reconstruction work and public engagement at museums and international events.

Jack Veldman (The Netherlands)

Director of Museumpark Archeon and host of the event. He is committed to connecting museums, reenactors, and audiences through engaging historical storytelling.

Yvonne Lammers-Keijsers (The Netherlands)

Assistant Director of Museumpark VONK and specialist in archaeology and public engagement, with over 35 years of experience in living history and experimental archaeology.

Joerie van Sister (Legio II Augusta, The Netherlands)

A leading member of the Roman reenactment group Legio II Augusta, dedicated to bringing Roman history to life through authentic living history and public events across Europe.
