I am an archaeologist with over 20 years of experience in archaeological study and consulting, as well as more than 8 years of teaching experience at the community college and university level. The majority of my work centers around cultural resource management, aiding local, state, and federal government efforts to safeguard potentially culturally significant resources in the face of development. My main areas of focus are in the southeastern United States (particularly Florida), and the Midwest (Ohio). However, I have also conducted research in Central and Northern Arizona, as well as in the Russian Far East.

I specialize in studying Hopewell peoples living in southern Ohio during the Middle Woodland period, from approximately 50 BC to AD 350. These people traded both within their own communities and with groups around the country, of which I was greatly interested with their trade with the Florida Gulf Coast groups. I focus on material sourcing, in particular sourcing of ceramic components, to look at trade and exchange between groups to understand group alliance and community organization. I am originally from Florida, receiving both my B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Florida and the University of South Florida, working in numerous areas and time periods. I also have extensive cultural resource management experience, working in non-profit and for-profit companies conducting archaeological surveys for a variety of project types, such as roadways or environmental reconstruction.
