My name is Yan Xue, currently pursuing an MSc in Archaeology at University College Dublin.
In June 2023, I was awarded the Bachelor of History in Antiquity & Museology (Cultural Heritage and Museology) from Baoding University, China.
From 2021 to 2023, I participated in, designed or led multiple experimental archaeology projects, including shell drilling experiments, bronze melting and casting experiments, pottery and kiln experiments, and traditional Chinese medicine experiments.
Between December 2022 and March 2024, I led the the project called Research on Ancient Natural Hair Colours in Experimental Archaeology (Baoding University Research Cultivation Fund, Project No.: 2022D04), which was successfully completed. The research outcomes can be found in Exarc Journal.
At present, my academic interests are focused on the transition from the Paleolithic-to-Neolithic transition, while I also maintain a strong interest in industrial archaeology.
