The EXARC Digitalisation Working Group focuses on the growing role of digital technologies in experimental archaeology, museum practice, and heritage communication. The group connects researchers, digital specialists, museum professionals, educators, and practitioners interested in how digital methods can support research, preservation, collaboration, and audience engagement.

Members explore a broad range of topics including 3D modelling, digital documentation, virtual and augmented reality, online exhibitions, databases, digital storytelling, GIS, photogrammetry, and the use of social media and digital platforms in heritage interpretation.

The Working Group encourages critical discussion about the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation, including accessibility, sustainability, authenticity, data preservation, and the relationship between physical and virtual experiences. Digital tools can expand access to archaeological knowledge and create new ways of interacting with experimental archaeology and reconstructed heritage.

Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and practical experimentation, the group supports innovative approaches to documenting, studying, and communicating the past in the digital age.
