GROUPS AND ASSOCIATIONS
Reenactment groups and associations are valuable contributors to the EXARC network, bringing practical experience, experimental insight, and strong public engagement skills.
Through the reconstruction and use of historical clothing, tools, technologies, and practices, reenactors help test archaeological interpretations and explore the realities of past lifeways.
Their close interaction with diverse audiences also plays an important role in making research accessible and engaging, fostering public interest in experimental archaeology, traditional crafts, and cultural heritage. By working alongside researchers, museums, and educators, reenactment groups help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and lived historical experience.
